James Theuri Kiago : Chief Executive Officer
James Theuri Kiago is the Chief Executive Officer at C&R Group. Previously James was C&R's Group Executive Director, Business Development & Strategy up to 31st May 2016 when he was appointed the Group's CEO. James has 23 years’ experience in the financial services sector covering diverse areas of Corporate and SME sales and relationship management, customer service, consumer banking, branch management and product development. His has previously worked in leading international and local financial institutions. He joined C&R Group in December, 2015.
He is a holder of a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from United States International University, a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Kenyatta University and a diploma in international marketing from the Schleswig Holstein School of economics in Germany.
Kerry-Ann Makatiani : Executive Director Operations
She is C&R’s Group Executive Director, Operations in-charge of overseeing the performance of C&R’s operations, ensuring strong relations with clients and industry stakeholders. Prior to that, Kerry-Ann was the CEO of C&R Group up to 31st May 2016. She joined C&R in January 2010.
Prior to joining C&R she had over 15 years work experience gained in Jamaica, USA, South Africa and Kenya, with strong experience in strategy, project and operational management. She worked in management consulting, spanning operational management, business and strategic planning as well as project management and implementation, for over five years with PwC Consulting in Nairobi, Kenya, as well as Anderson Consulting in Johannesburg, South Africa. Prior to that, she worked in product marketing and engineering for a telecommunication company for over seven years. Her Indus- try experience also includes financial services in the area of business, strategic and competitive analy- sis gained at Citibank N.A., New York, during her graduate studies.
Kerry-Ann holds an MBA in Finance & Management from Stern School of Business NY, USA; a post-graduate diploma in Marketing from Jamaica Institute of Management; and a BSc. in Engineering from Swarthmore College, PA, USA.
Purity Kairuthi : Chief Finance Officer
She is the Chief Finance Officer at C&R Group. She oversees the Company’s (Kenya and Uganda) Finance department with additional responsibilities in dividend reconciliation, Corporate Action, Human Resources and administrative activities. She joined C&R in March 2008. She holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration (Finance) and a Bachelor’s degree in Arts (Economics) both from the University of Nairobi, and CPA.
Purity has also attended various professional management, Tax, Accounting, management of unclaimed assets and Finance building courses. She has over 14 year’s wealth of experience in Accounting, Financial Management, Corporate Finance, Business Operations and Management, capital markets, Project Management and Risk Management among others.
Prior to joining C&R, she was the Finance & Administration Manager of Tanar Technical Consultant and there before, an auditor with M’K John & Company.

Muhoya Chege : Head of IT
Muhoya is in charge of the IT department with over 10 years experience in the industry from leading companies in Kenya and is responsible for the management of C&R’s IT infrastructure and data systems.
He is currently pursuing a Masters in Information Technology from Strathmore University and holds a bach- elor of Business Information Technology from the same institution.
He is an ISACA bronze member and is a CISA (certified information system auditor), CISM (certified information security manager) and a CRISC (certified in risk and information systems controls).

Lilian Kanyita : Head of Operations
Lilian is in charge of the Operations department with over 16 years’ experience in operations from the financial services industry.
She began her career with The Co-operative Bank of Kenya Limited where she worked for 12 years. She has also worked for CFC Stanbic Bank and SMEP Microfinance Bank. Lilian has high level experience in areas of international and local money transfers, cheque clearing, and back office treasury operations having held leadership roles in those areas with the various banks.
She holds a Masters in Management and Administration from Newport International University (USA) and a Bachelors of Commerce from the University of Nairobi.
Julia Osunga : Uganda Office Manager
Julia has extensive experience in the share registry business, having worked for Barclays Advisory & Registrars Services (BARS) since 2006.
Julia has extensive experience in transactions actions such as IPOs, Rights Issues, Share Bonuses and Splits. Key projects she has been involved in include and not limited to Umeme Limited Initial Public Offer (IPO), Bonus Issues for Barclays Bank, East African Breweries and NIC Bank, Rights Issues for Olympia Capital and NIC Bank. She holds a Bachelors of education in Mathematics & Business studies from Kenyatta University.
C&R Corporate Action Project experience: Umeme IPO, Kenya Airways Rights Issue, NIC Rights Issue and the Centum Bond, which saw efficient, and effective process flow as well as efficient management of shareholder and agent requests and queries in relation to the transaction. Julie currently manages our Uganda operations.
