Frederick Murunga is an expert in strategy formulation and business development with a track record of profit growth in the communications and technology industry. He currently manages a venture within the media and communications sector with operations across East Africa. He has held senior positions in the following organizations in a number of geographies: PricewaterhouseCoopers, Unga Group Ltd, Menanet Communications Egypt, Africa Online Ltd and Corporate Technical Services. Frederick serves on a number of boards including the following: Captiva Communications, 3 Mice Interactive Media, Little Africa, Paystream Ltd and Telecommunications Service Providers Association (TESPOK). He holds an MBA from Manchester Business School, UK. His civic leadership includes board seats on the National Consortium for Health Research, the KCA University Foundation and the IPv6 Task Force.
James holds a bachelor of Laws (LL.B) Degree from the University of Nairobi as well as a Diploma in Law from Kenya School of Law and is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya. He was appointed director of C&R in 2006 upon acquisition of the Company from Barclays Bank. James is an established leader in the areas of Conveyancing/bank securities and Corporate /Commercial Law and has a wide range of experience in private equity. He has handled numerous complex commercial transactions involving advising foreign investors on the NSE and CMA procedures, Mergers & Acquisitions', Restructuring of companies, debt scheduling and preparation of International agreements amongst others. James is the Managing Partner of Iseme, Kamau & Maema advocates, a leading Law firm in Kenya and a group member of DLA Piper, one of the leading Law firms in the World. He is also the Deputy Chairman of Juris East Africa, an alliance of independent Law firms in East Africa.
Kerry-Ann is C&R’s Group Executive Director, Operations in-charge of overseeing the performance of C&R’s operations, ensuring strong relations with clients and industry stakeholders. Prior to that, Kerry-Ann was the CEO of C&R Group up to 31st May 2016. She joined C&R in January 2010.
Prior to joining C&R she had over 15 years work experience gained in Jamaica, USA, South Africa and Kenya, with strong experience in strategy, project and operational management. She worked in management consulting, spanning operational management, business and strategic planning as well as project management and implementation, for over five years with PwC Consulting in Nairobi, Kenya, as well as Anderson Consulting in Johannesburg, South Africa. Prior to that, she worked in product marketing and engineering for a telecommunication company for over seven years. Her Indus- try experience also includes financial services in the area of business, strategic and competitive analy- sis gained at Citibank N.A., New York, during her graduate studies.
Kerry-Ann holds an MBA in Finance & Management from Stern School of Business NY, USA; a post-graduate diploma in Marketing from Jamaica Institute of Management; and a BSc. in Engineering from Swarthmore College, PA, USA.
James Theuri Kiago is the Chief Executive Officer at C&R Group. Previously James was C&R's Group Executive Director, Business Development & Strategy up to 31st May 2016 when he was appointed the Group's CEO. James has 23 years’ experience in the financial services sector covering diverse areas of Corporate and SME sales and relationship management, customer service, consumer banking, branch management and product development. His has previously worked in leading international and local financial institutions. He joined C&R Group in December, 2015.
He is a holder of a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from United States International Univer- sity, a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Kenyatta University and a diploma in international marketing from the Schleswig Holstein School of economics in Germany.
